Week 4

Week four kicks off with more plants being added to the meadow and lots of people stopping by the site to inquire about the project. A popular question is, why there are plants in the meadow that seem wilted? And why are we not deadheading the Bee Balm or Brown-Eyed Susan? The reason for that is because it is important to keep seed pods on the plants for migrating birds and other wildlife to enjoy during the cold months. In the winter many birds enjoy perching on flowers like Coneflowers and Coreopsis and feed on the seed heads.
